On the last round of the PBBL, we managed to take the first place! All in all, it was a good season, we made it to the finals on every event, so we landed on the fourth place twice, on the second place twice, and finally once on the first place. This results in the second place of the overall ranking of the season. Meltdown – third in season and paintball.at – first in the season, was the competition. Looking forward to playing the season 2019!
While we had a hard time in the finals on the first PBBL event in Austria, this time we could score, and we could make it to the podium.
While winter is freezing outside, we are turning up the heat. Since we start our 8th season, we can be sure that paintball has manifested in our lives. Since we have our own field, its time to start a new paintball era, thus we created HUPS, the Hungarian Paintball Series. To start the season right, LVNT created a fine video. .)
A Disaster. Not just for our team, but for paintball, and the scene. The beach-cup literally ended up in smoke, the guy who supposed to bring air didn’t show up, the compressor we got there locally was not functional with an un-repairable problem with the security preassure protection, the second local guy completley underestimated the situation and brought a tiny compressor, and our final effort, to get a proper compressor from Budapest ended when the electrician crew from Trogir connected the 400V industrial power with one phase missing, and burned the motor of the compressor. At that point we run out of options, and had to cancel the turnament. …
We had little more luck the next week. Our self-organised event called “Huszárvágás” was a success, the guys from Győri paintball SE won, Hős utca fighters got the second place, Bounty Hunters got third, and Balkan Express fourth place. We plan to organise 2-3 events a year for the Hungarian scene, and one or two international events in coorporation with Steve and Andrij from the beach-cup crew. We look forward for it. May the force be with us.
It may seem that our team got inactive, but this would be far from the truth. While it is true, that in the last 5 years our lives changed, kids were born, students became heroes of work, and life goes on it’s path, most of us still have passion for paintball. The scene changed as well, and we are working on the adaption of changes. We can say that there are some fanatics under us, that are really crazy and push the chariot uphill. We have our OWN FIELD where we have our Sunday club to play paintball. Viktor made a reball field, and is on the way to get a profession with the paintball akademia. We help at the organisation of the beach cup in croatia, and last but not least there is this paintball field application to manage games and turnaments. Xoclock is opensource, and ready for pro use! So, yes, this season was not about tournaments, but about changes. We hope that we can get a new generation of players, and keep our shocking hobby alive!
With this win on the last round in Croatia, our overall season result is almost perfect. Congratulations to Chaos Crew for their first place in the overall ranking, we have the second place. With Viktor making a 5-on-1 turning out for us at our last game, he got the player of the day title, so we went back home with 3 cups from cops. Nice closing of the season. Thank you COPS, was great!
With the full team in the lineup, we went through the two days of the beach-cup like knife through butter in the summer sun. It was a lot of fun. Next time we play Div1.
Everything was great, good paint, good field, good refs, and way tooooo good weather. We played the M500 format with the mercy rules, and it was excellent. Small mistakes don’t lead to loosing whole matches, and it really underlines the differences between teams. Icing on the cake, István was chosen player of the day, for effectively playing – without pods.
